Be Inspired Young Leaders Day

Be Inspired Young Leaders Day

On Wednesday the 15th of November 10 people from the year 7's went to Christ College for a leaders conference. The best thing I done their was learning that anyone can do great things like our speaker Cam Colkoen.  One of the key messages I took away is if you dream big you can achieve more. I learnt that when I grow up I will do great things.

Skittles Experiment

Skittles Experiment

Method:
1. 1/2 fill a petri dish with water
2. Carefully place 4 differently coloured skittles evenly spaced around the outside of the petri dish.

Hypothesis:
I think that the water will take all of the colour off the skittles and make the water the colour.

Scientific Reasoning:
The skittles are made of sugar and food colouring. As the sugar dissolves the food colouring moves over the water with sugar until it cannot move any further because of the colours.

1. What questions arose in your mind as you did the activity?
If the skittles would dissolve?
Would the skittles would lose their colour?
2. What could you do to see if your ideas are correct?
By waiting till all of the skittles lose there colour.

Planting Seeds

We planted 4 kinds of seeds.

These were:
1. Mustard
2. Radish
3. Sunflower
4. Bean

We are going to see how long these seeds take to germinate. Once they have grown we will be able to plant them.

Conserve To Preserve

Conserve To Preserve

Walt: For homework write a couplet poem with at least 12 couplet verses about sustainability and use vocabulary that relates to the topic in any way. Publish it attractively using a Google Slideshow with a maximum of two couplets per slide.

For Homework two weeks ago I chose to do the task write it. For this task I had to make a couplet poem with 12 verses with a maximum of one verse on each slide. But the main point of the couplet poem was about sustainability so I called it Conserve To Preserve.

First I wrote down heaps of words about sustainability on a mindmup and linked it to the slideshow. After I wrote the brainstorm I started with a good starter couplet to hook the reader in. Next I wrote all of the rest of the couplets and thought of a couplet to go at the end of it. After I had finished I was sitting down for probably about 20 minutes thinking about what to do for the title. When it finally came to me I thought it was awesome so I chose it.

The source I used was slideshow to make it look more attractive

Please leave me a positive, thoughtful helpful comment to help me move forward with my learning.

The Life Cycle Of A Seed

The Life Cycle Of A Seed

The major stages of the flower life cycle are the seed, germination, growth, reproduction, pollination, and seed spreading stages. The plant life cycle starts with a seed. Every seed holds a miniature plant called the embryo. There are two types of flowering plant seeds dicots and monocots.
