Linocut/Design

For Art this term we are doing Linocut. We have been looking at logos since we have to make a design with our initials or our name. As you can see below here is the evolution of the Apple logo. I am drawing my logo from my initials RJE. Please leave a comment if you have a good design idea for me.

Calendar Art

For Calendar Art we had to make a drawing.

We had to trace photos of ourselves, on a piece of black paper and glue it onto a background which we coloured in with blocks of bright colours. 

This is for my parents to view and also you if you are looking at this!

Editing Blog Posts

 Today when we went with Mr Maddren we were making one of our blog posts better. I chose my Apple Art blog post. So the first we done was to check off all of the things that we had on our blog and the ones we didn't have on our blog post we edit it and maybe upload some on to it or change the writing on it. This is my rubric doc and before and after drawing. Hope you like them!

Crossover Apple

For the last few weeks we have been making an apple. First we had to draw the apple in soft pencil, then we went over it in a thick vivid. Next we draw straight lines inside and outside of the apple and then we designed cool patterns and coloured it in with coloured pencils. We were drawing this for art instead of our normal project because the kids that go to kapa haka didn't go for the day. This was my final product. I hope you like it!

             

Sunset Art

For the last weeks we have been working on sunset art. I thought that all of the different colours were elements, like the red, yellow and red would be fire and the blue would be water and the green would be land. First we had to draw the out lines of the picture, then we had to vivid over the out line.  Next coloured in all of the elements colours. I hope you like it

Name Art

For a few weeks we have been making awesome art. This week we made our name but art it was awesome. But it took us ages to do our best effort so I hope you like it!

Enlargement

For the last week or so the Senior Syndicate have been doing art for maths and it was enlargement. (If you are wondering what enlargement means it is just drawing a small picture bigger). First we got given a small but cool picture and we glued it into our maths book. Second we got given a piece of paper that was a square shape and we were told to draw the tiny picture on the square paper with pastels. Each person got given a different picture to draw, this is my tiny and awesome picture.

When I began Mrs Currie told us not to draw the black first but to do it last. So I decided to start with the blood red, then the sky blue and lastly the soothing black, at last I had finished. Then I showed the teacher and she thought it was fantastic and I was so proud of my cool artwork because I thought exactly the same thing!

Cubism Art

For the past week we have been making cubism art. Cubism was one of the most influential visual art styles of the early twentieth century. It was created by Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881–1973) and Georges Braque (French, 1882–1963) in Paris between 1907 and 1914. First we did a draft of what shapes we wanted to make our self out of. Next we drew ourselves out of those shapes and then we started our final copy. We copied our draft then we did it in vivid. After that I coloured it in with pastel. I learned how to blend good and also thought that doing all of the shapes and making it into a person is hard.

Pasifika Art

For the past two weeks we have been making pasifika art. First we had to draw our leaf designs then went over it in vivid. Then we photo copied it ten times and after that we dyed all of them the colours we wanted.We made a cool thing that goes inside the flower. After that we stuck all of the leaves in the middle then sellotaped all of the leaves down.Then we stuck the cool thing into the middle of the flower. Here is a picture of it.

First we had to create a practice one to see how many patterns we could do. Then we started our final copy. But I did not just draw patterns, I also drew plain colours in a few spots. It looks Awesome!
