For writing this week we had to write about our holidays. I wrote about this particular bit in my holidays because it was the best part. I hope you like it!

Holiday Recount
In the first week of the holidays I went to an island which is called Mana Island. I went with my family, there were four of us. We drove to my dad's friends house on Sunday morning and it took about fifty minutes to get to Wellington. We went there to see our family who lives there.
Before we left for my dad's friends house, we thought if we had forgotten anything. So, we double checked all of our stuff and remembered that we had to take the medicine, so I go to get it and put it in one of the bags. But I forget to put them in a plastic bag, so I go get the plastic bags and put them in, in case they leak.
When we got to my dad's friends house we asked him to drive our car to the airport and leave the car at his house. He says “yes” so that's good. When we get to the airport we have to wait an hour until we can depart. About an hour later we started to walk to the plane and Dad told me that the plane ride will only take about fifty minutes.
After we got off the plane in Wellington my aunty drove us to the dock where we were going to get on the boat and go to Mana Island. But we were early at the dock so we unpack the stuff out of the car and put it outside ready for the boat to come. As soon as it came we were holding stuff to put on the boat so it wouldn’t take as long. When the boat was packed we hopped on and sat inside ready for the twenty minute ride.
When we got there we were greeted by my cousins and uncle who helped us unpack all of the stuff off the boat. We decided to stay at our own house there for the rest of the day because we were pretty tired. All of us had dinner at my aunty’s house for dinner.
In the morning I went on a walk with my uncle on the beach and he gave to me an adult gecko which had scaly skin that looked camouflage to hold. But its sharp claws were digging into my skin which hurt. After that I went and got my mum and dad, we were going to walk to the peak of the island. When we started walking it was hard because we were walking up a really steep hill which took a while to climb. After we got to the peak we decided to have a rest on a bench that was right beside a cliff and I nearly fell off. After we got down from the peak I had dinner because it was pretty late.
The third day was cool too because my cousins took us to the hole in the rock which is
a huge rock with a hole in it. I0t might not seem interesting but it was. When we got home we had pita pockets for lunch with some chicken that my aunty made in it. For the rest of the day we just stayed at our house and played uno. I was sad that we had to leave tomorrow because I like all of the animals there.
When it was morning we got all of our stuff on the boat to get ready to leave for Christchurch which was sad. After we got all the stuff on the boat we were ready to leave so we said bye to everyone and jumped on the boat to go back home.
Next holidays I hope we go somewhere awesome like Mana Island because it will be
spectacular!
