This week we learned some things about George Washington Carver (also known as Mr.Peanut). I figured out that he created three hundred ways to do things with peanuts like feed elephants, used shells as decorations, peanut icing, peanut butter chocolate. I hope you enjoy the slideshow!
For the past week we have been making cubism art. Cubism was one of the most influential visual art styles of the early twentieth century. It was created by Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881–1973) and Georges Braque (French, 1882–1963) in Paris between 1907 and 1914. First we did a draft of what shapes we wanted to make our self out of. Next we drew ourselves out of those shapes and then we started our final copy. We copied our draft then we did it in vivid. After that I coloured it in with pastel. I learned how to blend good and also thought that doing all of the shapes and making it into a person is hard.
For the past two weeks we have been making pasifika art. First we had to draw our leaf designs then went over it in vivid. Then we photo copied it ten times and after that we dyed all of them the colours we wanted. We made a cool thing that goes inside the flower. After that we stuck all of the leaves in the middle then sellotaped all of the leaves down. Then we stuck the cool thing into the middle of the flower. Here is a picture of it.
This week Riley and I made a book trailer on Avengers Age Of Ultron. The options to make it on were Google Slides, Imovie or Powtoon so Riley and I created a Powtoon.
If you want to see it watch it below
Ms McLeod also made a rubric for us to see how good we have made it.
I put for the presentation, the trailer flows very smoothly and captivates the attention of the audience. It compels the viewer to read the book. For the Content there is one key scene of theme in the book represented in the trailer. This makes the viewer generally aware of the content of the book.
First we had to create a practice one to see how many patterns we could do. Then we started our final copy. But I did not just draw patterns, I also drew plain colours in a few spots. It looks Awesome!
This term we did the Digi Awards about our Everyday Heroes. I chose to do the single digital art photo. My everyday hero in the photo is my friend Eltaf because he inspires me to play soccer. First I had to take lots of photos with different camera angles to see what they looked like. Then I chose a camera angle that I wanted to do. I had to think about the rule of thirds to make my hero stand out.
Something I learned about taking photos is all of the angles that you can take photos with.
This week I created my own 3D hand art. First I had to trace around my hand. Then I drew lines outside the hand. Inside the hand you draw curved lines. Then I coloured it in with pastels that were blue and red. It looks awesome!
Last week we created winter cinquain poems. First we had to write the title and then we had to write down adjectives describing winter. After that we wrote down three verbs that you do in winter and then we wrote what we like doing in winter. Also we wrote down another word for winter. Here's what I wrote.
Last term we learnt about the New Zealand Flag Debate. We each decided if we wanted to change the flag or not. We looked at our current flag and we came up with our own ideas for a new flag for our country. First we created some prototypes of different flag designs. We had to think about Maori designs, how many pictures and the colour of it. Then we put it on a Google Doc and wrote the reasons why we used those pictures and colours. Then we got feedback from some people. My flag took a lot of effort to design.
Here is some of my feedback:
I think you should take one picture away-Eltaf
I think you should have a few more Maori designs-Austin
